RealFlow

For the past 2 weeks I've been learning RealFlow. I've always wanted to learn it, but never coughed up the guts to do it...but here I am. It's an awesome software and I plan to integrate it more into my commercial and personal work.

A quick sneak peak :)

New Stock Illustration Preview - Harmony

Hey folks,

Sorry for the lack of blogging the past 2 weeks!

I've spent this time working on some new stock illustrations for Ikon Images. I've worked with them for the past year, and they sell private licenses of these illustrations to editorials, etc. It's pretty much a stock image website, but for illustrations and is privately owned.

Here are 2 illustrations out of 27 that I made in this batch. I quite like them. I hope you do as well!

Depthcore XLIII - Time - New Illustration

"The Depthcore Collective is proud to release it's 43rd themed chapter exhibition, "TIME". As we near our 10th anniversary, this seems to be an appropriate subject for us as a collective to reflect upon. Ten years have passed by, and the students and teenagers who once populated the group are gone, replaced by full time freelance artists, independent small-business owners and focused creative professionals. Finding the time (oh, the puns are endless with this theme) to create these Chapters has become increasingly difficult.

And yet, here we are, with one of our largest collections in the past few years. It certainly came together slowly—after the excitement of our presentation at OFFF, our first exhibition here in New York City, the come down from the highs of travelling and showing, and to the reality of starting over to create a new Chapter was brutal. Pieces drizzled in over the first few months, and for a little while it seemed like this theme would get the better of us. Then, all of a sudden, art started pouring in. Not just art, but really good art; the put-your-headphones-on-and-stay-up-until-one-o'clock-in-the-morning-because-you're-excited-by-what-you've-seen good art. All of a sudden, the collective is buzzing with guys and girls talking about how this might turn out to be something special. More than eighty pieces later, we're tremendously excited by what we're putting on show today.

Our featured artist for this Chapter is Vesna Pesic, a very recent addition to the collective. Her work, with it's unique aesthetic and collage based approach, adds a wonderful new depth to our collective aesthetic and provided a couple of the key sparks in our creative process. This Chapter also sees us welcome several new members, including artists Pavel Sabelnikov, Benjamin Mounsey,Pat Perry, Abo and Ooli from Orka Collective and musician Falinox. We're very excited by what these unique talents bring to the table—browse "TIME" to pick out their debut pieces!

We hope you enjoy the latest Chapter of our work, and look forward to sharing more content including workshops, wallpapers and more with you over the coming weeks. Thanks for your ongoing support - we'll be back with our 44th Chapter and a few more surprises next year. Happy Holidays to all!"

I leave you all with my newest illustration entitled: "Chronos"

Closeups can be seen here.

Took about 2.5 weeks do illustrate.

Chronos - The father of time and the guardian of the end of time (as depicted here). Chronos himself is a being composed of both organic and mechanical matter. I took some inspiration from folklore and my experience with Final Fantasy, as well as looking at loads of old vintage clocks, etc.

In the core on his chest, holds the world as we know it - galaxies upon galaxies. He wields a scythe where the sands of time are located, and if you can see the 2 different asian characters on each side of the scythe's head - one means life, one means death. It is he who controls life and death as we know it.

Enjoy!
